Who We Are
Gayatri Memorial Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization. It has
been founded in 2011, driven by the conviction that every citizen of India should
have access to basic education and health care necessities. Moreover, we are focused
on promoting self-employment and organization of rural poor. We are concentrated
on women empowerment programs and skill training courses. The basic idea behind
our work is to organize the poor into SHG (Self Help Groups) groups and make them
capable for self-employment. After many years of experience and contribution in
various organizations, our team felt the need to form a new group and work under
a new identity. The necessity for space and independence, in order to embrace innovative
ways that can be beneficial for the rural and urban people that are struggling with
poverty, was what made us take this decision. GMF was instigated by a group of engaged
professionals with a vision of a better quality of life for everyone. Within a short
period of time we have expanded our impact and have provided our services in 3 states,
Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. We have been working successfully with
the nation’s top corporate agencies, such as GAIL (India) Ltd, as well as with various
government institutions.
